Decision

Solieum is an optimistic rollup: execution off-chain, batch data published on Solana, state roots committed to Solana, invalid roots removable by fraud proof.

Rejected

• Validium / external DA — cheaper bandwidth, but the DA provider becomes a second trust root, and "secured by Solana" stops being true without qualification. May be revisited per-market later; never silently.
• Own-consensus sidechain — the GitBook's "PoS validators, 1 SOL stake" path. A validator set that decides state makes Solana decoration, not security.

Deciding constraint

Solana has no blob market: DA competes in the general fee market inside packet-size limits. The sustainable-bytes/sec arithmetic (§5 D1 box, §6 C4) bounds honest throughput and MUST be computed before any public number.

Reversal trigger

If measured DA cost makes target markets uneconomic, per-market validium classes may be added — disclosed on the front page of every affected market, per Appendix E4/E6 discipline.
